I walked in to life an empty shell
Filled it with stuff and people and noise
I packed it full of to dos and should
I pushed and pulled
I hiked uphill.
I built my own mountain for myself to scale
Then the load got to heavy
The rocks too steep
And I fell
And the bag broken open
And landslide occurred
And I was left lying in a pile of rubble
So I picked up the pieces of my broken shell
And looked at the rest
And I surfed the rubble only keeping the best
The things I could carry in my own two hands
The rest just didn’t seem to matter
And I walked to a new light
Where the climb was at sea level
Where the sun itself was enough to fuel me
And I walked with a smile
Lighter
With so much less
Believing in so much more.
This is wonderful.
