Commitment

I’m considering commitment
Though I don’t know what it means
Does it mean that I must be consistent
In your perception of me?

Does it mean I have to take a stand
In every choice I make
That the rules apply and can’t be broken
No matter what the take?

Does it mean I get to choose my thoughts
And actions through and through
While still deciding what is right
Between the me and you?

The only commitment I can make
Is the fact that things will change
I commit to grow and see anew
The world forever strange
