The Climb

I climbed a hill today
Met many obstacles on the way
I wasn’t sure I’d be ok
Then I climbed a little more

The air began to thin
And my view began to spin
So I slowed my breath to match
And I climbed a little more

I always forged ahead
Despite my lighter head
I put aside all pain and dread
And climbed a little more

I learned its often best
To not look up and guess
how much higher, how much longer
It is before you stop

Keep taking one step more
Do not focus on the score
Keep breathing, learning, laughing
And climb a little more.
