Playground

A boy stuck in a man’s body
A little girl dying to be seen
We walk around a playground
where the grass is never green

Oh love, can you hear me?
I’m right across the way
Oh love, can you feel me?
I’m here, it’s time to play

The gravel's rough and the wind is hot
And I fell and skinned my knee
And I’m sitting here and crying
Hoping someone will rescue me

But no, no. Oh
That’s not the way this goes...

We wipe the dirt off of our chins
And put on another show
We stand tall and we grin
Pretending to not know

Cuz we are lying through our teeth
Just hoping to survive
In a world that’s stuck beneath
Intent on its demise

Oh love, can you see me
I’m right in from of you
Oh love can you feel me?
There’s something we can do

The gravel's rough and the wind is hot
And I fell and skinned my knee
And I’m tired of all the crying
Waiting for you to rescue me

I don’t know the way
But I see you standing there
So we either find our words to say
Or decide that we don’t care

So fuck all of this pain
And the fear and the belief
This boys and girls old game
In a world that needs relief

I guess I’ll be alone
And I’ll never be set free
As a girl in a womens body
No man to rescue me.
